Swedish Priestess Incorporates Vaginal Steaming After Failed IVF Treatments and Becomes Pregnant

Published by Steamy Chick on 27th Mar 2019

Rebecca Tiger first learned of vaginal steaming from a doula who she met in France. When she returned home to Sweden, she began searching everywhere for information about vaginal steaming. Having undergone unsuccessful IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) treatments, she decided to incorporate vaginal steaming into her routine. Soon after, she became pregnant with her second child. It was then that she knew that she needed to bring vaginal steaming to the Swedish countryside. We interviewed Rebecca to learn more.

What is your profession?

I’m a performing artist and director but I also walk the priestess path. Priestess of Nature in straight line with Priestess of Avalon. I have worked as an artist for 20 years and I did my studies in Stockholm. I see vaginal steaming as another tool for me both as an artist and as a priestess. It helps to connect myself, colleagues and clients to their own wombspace, to their center for creativity. I believe that whether you choose to use your uterus to nourish and give birth to a baby or if you nourish and give birth to your sacred dream, it is the same source and the same neglected center of power. I have also worked with herbs all my life. I never went to school but that is how I cure myself and my children, and I consider myself a “herbarista” not an herbalist since I have no documented education just my own practice, but the step to steam was not very far.

Where did you go to school or get your professional training? How long have you been practicing?

I have done steaming on myself for almost five years. I heard about it when I was in France from a doula. Then I went and googled all I could find about it, that was around 2014 and I just tried it at home and did all the beginners mistake you can do. I burned my legs, sat too long, made it too hot, used the wrong herbs, steamed at the wrong time. After a while, I learned by my mistakes and I started showing my curious friends about it. After I began vaginal steaming, I ended up finally getting pregnant again with my second child and I’m pretty sure it was because of steaming. I can’t prove that it was the actual steam and herbs that aided in me getting pregnant but I can prove that the steam helped my get my confidence back as a woman. I was having difficulties getting pregnant and the conventional healthcare methods just made me feel very bad about myself and reminded me about all the difficulties that I faced. It made me feel as if I had almost no chance of conceiving in a natural way. I was actually quite far in my IVF treatments when I realized that I was pregnant since I started steaming more often.

How did you learn about vaginal steaming? Do you use vaginal steaming yourself?

I decided that for me to move on and really give guidance and be able to feel 100% sure of how to steam others, I signed up for the Vaginal Steam Facilitator course and my plan was to become a Peristeam Hydrotherapist since where I live in Sweden, we have no one with that knowledge yet. I learned so many secret tips and tricks in the courses and I know what I’m talking about so it’s very easy to charge for my services. I started officially last autumn and I have steamed 30 women. I gave the steam a more nordic name since my plan is to use nordic herbs and to have my clients here in Scandinavia. It’s called Snippsauna (Snippa is the word for Yoni and Sauna is yes, a sauna). We love our saunas here in the north!

What has your personal experience with steaming been?

I started a project called Snippsaunax3 where I encourage women to start steaming regularly once a week and I have 30 onboard and meanwhile I also have women who are not in the project but they have also started vaginal steaming. Over here I need to educate the women more about what vaginal steaming is, how it’s done and the benefits. I find that women are curious but they are hesitant until one of their friends tries it. I have also done some group steams and I find those so amazing because there is this full on giggly, nervous laughter but once they are above their pots it just stops. It’s like a force of nature pulling them down into themselves and their wombspace. I use my drum in ceremonies, I prepare an herbal soak bath for the women and I play the drum. Sometimes into their womb, a womb journey or either just grounding travels to connect. I also offer womb-healing ceremonies.

Why did you decide to offer this service to women? Was there an “aha” moment?
I do most of my sessions online, some of them come to my house in the countryside or I come to them. Since most of my clients steam at home, they send me photos of their steam stations, their baskets of herbs they bought and their steam pots. Most of them have reported less PMS pain, such a no sore breasts, no cramps and regular cycles. I also have clients reporting that their green/yellow discharge is gone. All of my clients have reported that they feel so clean and fresh and that they’re sleeping much better. I do have two men that I’m going to start steaming soon. They’ve complained of very itchy anuses. I look forward to hearing how it works for them.

Do any vaginal steam success stories stand out where the client had a significant health breakthrough?

My “wow” story is my own, that I managed to get pregnant. I also use vaginal steaming to prevent a herpes outbreak. It works so good for me. If I feel any herpes happening I make myself a mild steam. I use lemon balm, or parsley or menthe or apple cider vinegar or salt, depending on what I feel like and the herpes never becomes an outbreak. So I don’t need to take any medicine. Sometimes I take L-lysine just as an extra precaution but that’s it.
